BHROX bauhaus reuse
Tour
BHROX bauhaus reuse is located in the center of the roundabout at Ernst-Reuter-Platz and is a new public center and urban laboratory for interdisciplinary education, research and participation.
In the coming years, the programming of BHROX will focus on discourse, praxis and performative projects examining the topics of modern society, politics and construction culture, habitation, sustainable urban development and recycling society as well as the future of education and labor. The glass construction is made of reused facade elements from Bauhaus Dessau that came from its major renovation after the Second World War in 1976.
The concept bauhaus reuse stands for recycling and rethinking from a material and sociocultural perspective: a coming to terms with methods of the interpretation of and the dealing with the legacy, guiding principles and narratives of the modern.
The program THE ONLY ARTIST, which was started due to the lockdown in the spring of 2020, has continued to be performed by artists at regular intervals ever since. In doing so, new works and premieres have been created at BHROX that also constitute a performative examination of the zeitgeist of the pandemic in and with urban space.
