Welcome to the 2021 Berlin Performing Arts Festival Blog!

Shortly before and during the festival, theater studies students from Free University Berlin will take a curious and critical look at everything that makes up PAF: what have the festival makers planned? What topics are the artists working with? What issues are being discussed within Berlin’s independent performing arts community at the moment?

Armed with pen, paper and recording device, as well as with Zoom, documents in the cloud and chat research, they set off, conduct interviews, write features and reports. The PAF is wonderfully overwhelming – no one can be everywhere at once, not even on the internet. With this blog, however, the students blaze trails through the schedule of programming.

They receive professional support from the cultural journalist Georg Kasch. They have already discussed journalistic tools together for several weeks, have written reviews, conducted interviews and continuously discussed the performing arts. Now these digital natives are eager to convert their knowledge into practice and watch the performing arts on the internet with young, fresh eyes. Stay tuned!
