Die Leiche loswerden

Audiovisuelle Stadtraumbetrachtung im Gehen
Caroline Creutzburg
openair

This speculative and haptic exploration of urban space addresses the concept of being materially involved. Groping one’s way along throughout one’s surroundings, inducec a macro-consideration of one’s science and fiction. Modern age men imagined the apocalypse to be more glamourous, but now they are getting overgrown by trivial and lifeless material. What is the status of particulate matter in the context of the six mass extinctions? Where does one place oneself in the horror of “alien ecologies”? Verbal narration, Wedding’s anthropogenic landscape, and virtual visualization are superimposed upon one another in this work.

Artists

Caroline Creutzburg

Caroline's works pursue a persistent interest in simultaneously strong and permeable framings. She is always accompanied by the question of the supposedly banal, of implicit forms of address and the emancipatory in showing and in watching. Her latest works were "WHAT ON EARTH", a scenic-auditory earth surface spectacle, the ensemble performance "WOMAN WITH STONES" and the VR installation "wabe[]ost".

Stine Hertel

Stine Hertel works as a performance artist and lighting designer. She is co-founder of the performance platform Rotterdam Presenta and runs the department for Special Defects since 2016. There she thinks about the resistant performativity of space and material and builds escalating stage sets and installations.

Rahel Kesselring

Rahel Kesselring works as a stage designer and develops scenographies and lighting concepts in various groupings. She has developed her own works for Ashkal Alwan HWP, Festival junger Talente and Alte Fabrik Rapperswil. She studied applied theater studies in Gießen as well as scenography at the Kunsthochschule Basel and at the Akademie der Bildenden Künste Wien.

She is currently a research associate at the Zurich University of the Arts.
