During the first lockdown, nine artists adapted the comedy Thesmophoriasuzae by Aristophanes (411 BCE) in order to tell the story in a new way – from the perspective of women. The setting is the Thesmophoria festival, which actually did take place in ancient Athens, and which brought women together in order to pray to the goddess Demeter. The women, however, are mad as hell about how they are being incorrectly portrayed in the amphitheaters. When the patriarch of the theater sends his minions to spy on them, they decide that it is finally time to take matters into their own hands!
