In the “super election year” 2021 there is also a great deal at stake in terms of cultural policy: members of the independent performing arts community, independent groups and their institutions are still far from secure post-pandemic perspectives. How Berlin’s cultural landscape and the people who shape it will produce and live in the coming years will also be defined by the elections for Berlin’s House of Representatives on September 26. Alongside all of the challenges that are accompanying the pandemic, however, there is the risk of losing sight of important questions and topics, such as the spaces that are still urgently needed or the need for a continuous safeguarding of artistic working biographies.

Before the election campaign enters its most intense phase and the cultural politicians become heavily involved and wrapped up in debates, we look forward to the opportunity to discuss these and many additional questions from the community with the cultural policy spokespersons of some of the political parties represented in Berlin’s House of Representatives.
