Lob des Vergessens, Teil 2

Oliver Zahn
digital

How does forgetting work? In the ethnographic archive Hymn of Forgetting, Part 2, which explores the exodus and displacement of Germans after the Second World War, a descendant of displaced persons researches why this experience in his family history has not been inscribed in his memory. With the help of a song and additional audio documents, the artist traces gaps in his own biography, develops a thesis of collective strategies for forgetting from this and presents live art for the computer medium.
