Grind Side Of The Moon

Ein Familienstück
NIE THEATER
openair

The term “grind” is used to describe a psychic condition where people are completely taken by their work and where they draw a specific form of satisfaction from it. The prospect of their work’s inconsequentiality brings the ensemble to dedicate itself to the dark side of the grind in the Grind Side of the Moon. With blind trust, the group falls into the abyss and comes back with an anthropological factual report based on Poe’s fantastic story “A Descent into the Maelström”. Parallel to this, a performer provides audio commentaries on the piece that are being streamed online.

NIE THEATER

The NIE THEATER was founded at the end of 2017 with the intention of commenting on, accompanying and productively criticizing central topics of urban political development. It consists of a total of 15 ensemble members with different educational backgrounds. They do not only want to criticize the reduction of self-determined urban development possibilities, but also create spaces themselves in which a critical exchange and a direct experience of autonomy in the city becomes possible.
