Following a winter that was gray in many different ways, the society of the city is emphatically making its way outdoors this spring on the search for niches and spaces for community. For the performing arts, public space promises the option of a stage in the pandemic. A space for experimentation with its own rules, boundaries and opportunities for artistic intervention as well as encounters between artists and their audiences has resulted.
In this talk, the artists Julia Lehmann from Studio Urbanistan (Leipzig) and Mirrianne Mahn from yellowdressproudactions (Frankfurt) talk with dramaturg and curator Melmun Bajarchuu (Berlin) about the potentials and limits of an appropriation of urban space for the performing arts.
